Argh, this post is a bit late. I was supposed to post this yesterday but after I got home from my Karate session, I laid down to get some rest. Funny thing was, I fell down sleep - the next minute it was morning!
Anyhow, here it is Kyokushin Kan geris…
What we’ve done so far
- Hiza geri (Knee kick)
- Kin geri (Groin kick)
- Mae geri (Front kick)
- Mawashi geri (Roundhouse kick)
- Kakato geri (Heel kick)
- Ago jodan geri (High kick to the chin)
- Yoko geri (Side kick)
- Ushiro geri (Backwards kick)
- Oroshi soto kakato geri (Downwards outside heel kick - axe kick)
- Oroshi uchi kakato geri (Downwards inside heel kick - axe kick)
Other Kyokushin Kan kicks
- Age kakato ushiro geri (Rising heel backwards kick)
- Jodan uchi haisoku geri (Upper inside instep kick to jaw)
- Kake geri (Hooking kick)
- Kansetsu geri (Joint kick)
- Ushiro mawashi geri (Reverse roundhouse kick)
I still don’t get the part where you twist your hips to get more power to your kicks. The axe kick was easy for me though, I can get my feet head level and can move it around, inside or outside. Other than that, I’m still workin’ on it ;-)
